"You do just fine without my help," Helen assured him. She hardly wanted Ravi to think that she was dissatisfied with what they had when that was far from the case. Helen had feelings for him, feelings she hadn't allowed herself to have in quite a long time, and it was a dangerous prospect. One or the both of them might disappear at any moment and given the nature of her longevity, she didn't want to tie herself with someone who was likely mortal. It was the very thing she hadn't allowed herself to do in ages.
